The first conference 'Information Technology Prospects and Challenges' was held
in May 2003 in Kathmandu, Nepal. A total of 246 papers were received from throughout
the world for the conference. Most of the papers were from India including the
Indian Institute of Technology, Regional Engineering Colleges, IT companies.
However the conference also received papers from Australia, Italy, Taiwan, Japan,
Bangladesh, Hongkong, Singapore and China. The event was sponsored by University
of Technology Sydney Australia, United Nation's University - International Institute
of Software Technology, Macao SAR China, and Advance Communication Society (ACS)

Second International Asian Applied Computing
Conference

The focus of the Asian Applied Computing Conference was primarily to bring the
research in computer science closer to practical applications. The conference
aimed primarily at topics, which have immediate practical benefits. By hosting
the conference in the developing nations in Asia it aimed to provide a forum
for engaging both the academic and the commercial sector in that region. The
conference received a total of 186 papers covering all area of Information Technology.

Third International Conference
on Innovative Applications for the Developing World

The focus of the Third International
Conference on "Innovative Applications of Information Technology for the
Developing World" is to provide a forum for practitioners and end users of
technology, and an interface between them and researchers. The purpose of the
Innovative Track is to report successful applications so as to attract potential
users and researchers to this technology. By hosting the Conference in the developing
nations in Asia, it aims to provide a forum for engaging both the academic and
the commercial sectors in the region. The focus of the second Conference
was to bring the research in computer science closer to practical applications.
The Conference was aimed primarily at topics, which have immediate practical benefits
for the developing countries. The first Conference 'Information Technology Prospects
and Challenges' was held in May 2003 in Kathmandu, Nepal. This year the Conference
theme has been changed to Innovative Applications of Information Technology for
the Developing World to reflect both the regional and application oriented nature
